Job Description

We are seeking a part-time or full-time Legal Assistant to immediately join our growing firm. The Legal Assistant will support one or two attorneys representing individuals, families, and business owners, mainly in the areas of probate, estate, and trust administration. The Legal Assistant will also assist attorneys in the area of Estate Planning. The Legal Assistant position requires a highly motivated, experienced candidate who can complete projects with a high degree of detail, efficiency, and professional excellence in a collegial environment. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000 - $65,000 per year Benefits • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications • Benefit package included; waiting period may apply • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8-hour shift Responsibilities: • Preparing needed documents through researching, drafting, formatting, and proofreading related correspondence • Organizing and maintaining client files (physical and electronic) and deadlines • Scheduling and coordinating attorney meetings • Communicating and meeting with clients and others • Assisting attorneys as requested • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant • Ability to demonstrate effective written/verbal communication and organizational skills • Ability to work with multiple team members confidently and respectfully, including attorneys and other staff • Ability to prioritize in a multi-tasking environment with accountability • Ability to utilize critical thinking and exercise initiative • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications • Education and Experience preferences • Law firm experience About Company: Burnett Legal Group is a growing general practice law firm with locations in Omaha and Gretna.
