**Responsibilities** In keeping with the Marian Medical Center healthcare philosophy, the Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient, operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images, provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease. **Qualifications** + Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an acute facility if not RDMS. + Entry level for RDMS 0-3 years experience. + Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. + Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures. + Must also know departmental protocols and procedures. + Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians and the patient population. + Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. + Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment. + Current RDMS or RDMS eligible ECE to maintain certification current + BLS CPR card. **Overview** Marian Regional Medical Center, a 191-bed facility located in Santa Maria, California, is recognized as one of the Top 250 Hospitals in the Nation by Healthgrades and was awarded Best Maternity Care by Newsweek.
